The digital district is a key part of the Stirling City Region Deal, which was announced in the Chancellor’s autumn statement in November 2016 and is being developed by a cross-sector partnership that includes Stirling Council, the University of Stirling, Forth Valley College and local businesses.
Having more than quadrupled in size since its March 2014 launch, CodeBase Edinburgh is home to over 90 start-ups which employ over 600 people. The team has helped to incubate companies which have raised over half a billion dollars of investment since its inception.
Now, the UK’s largest tech incubator is working in partnership with Stirling Council, with its new site Codebase Stirling, the city’s brand new technology incubator hub, forming the first major building block in the city’s digital district. The hub will gather and support the tech community providing scale-up education, flexible office and co-working spaces, mentoring and a full programme of events.
Codebase Stirling officially opens its doors next month. Housed in the former Municipal Buildings, the flagship technology hub will host its formal launch reception on September 5. To register for the launch event, please follow the link below.

Stephen Coleman, chief executive and co-founder of CodeBase, said: “In advance of our UK-wide rollout we are leveraging Stirling’s central location to provide scale up education, technology events and mentorship for Scotland’s digital companies.
“We are creating a hub that can drive real growth into the region and country, and believe Stirling can become an integral part of Scotland’s fast-growing tech scene with all the knock-on benefits – not least the potential for hundreds of jobs to be created in the city.”
Councillor Scott Farmer, Leader Stirling Council, said: “This collaboration with CodeBase further enhances Stirling’s ambitions to become a centre of digital excellence. CodeBase Stirling has the potential to attract new, innovative businesses to the area, create hundreds of jobs and secure investment at the heart of our new Digital District, a key part of the City Region Deal.”
