The Scottish Cities Alliance has expanded its partnership with UKREiiF to drive investment into Scotland’s cities in 2025 and beyond. The announcement comes ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum, which will bring together the world’s leading investors and developers from 20 – 22 May 2025 to explore investment opportunities.
This will mark the biggest partnership to date between the Scottish Cities Alliance and UKREiiF, building on work since 2022 to develop a strategic partnership that enables Scotland’s cities to showcase growth and development opportunities by sector priorities, such as, Energy Transition, Health and Life Sciences, Data and Digital Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing.
The Scottish Cities Alliance, a partnership between Scotland’s eight cities – Aberdeen, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth, and Stirling – and the Scottish Government, work collaboratively to attract investment, stimulate economic growth, and forge strategic partnerships. By facilitating direct engagement between city leaders and the private sector, alongside effective policy advocacy, the Alliance ensures Scotland’s cities remain competitive while cultivating a supportive environment that enhances their appeal on the global stage.
The programme will feature in Scottish Cities Alliance Pavilion in Pavilion Avenue to connect with 16,000 delegates across the event, which is attended by industry heavyweights.
In the months leading up to the event, the Alliance will work closely with Scotland’s cities and the Scottish Government to develop a programme that will maximise engagement with investors. Through the pavilion, stage discussions and roundtables, the Alliance will be at the heart of conversations with the private sector to promote Scotland’s leading real estate and infrastructure investment projects.
The Scottish delegation will be led by new Co-Chairs of the Alliance, Councillor Grant Laing (Leader of Perth and Kinross Council) and Councillor Cammy Day (Leader of the City of Edinburgh Council), alongside City Leaders, and senior decision makers, who will lead discussions with investors and developers from across the globe.
The upcoming UKREiiF 2025 event in Leeds promises to be a globally significant gathering with thousands of attendees, 1,250 speakers, 150 exhibitors and a number of fringe events. It aims to connect key decision-makers from the public sector, investors, developers, and other stakeholders to accelerate sustainable and inclusive investment.
Cllr Grant Laing, Leader of Perth and Kinross Council and Co-Chair of the Scottish Cities Alliance, said:
Scotland’s cities have a wealth of real estate and infrastructure projects that will transform how people live and work for generations to come. The UKREiiF 2025 event is an opportunity to tell our collective story and highlight the potential for sustainable investment across Scotland’s eight cities.
Cllr Cammy Day, Leader of the City of Edinburgh Council, and Co-Chair of the Scottish Cities Alliance, added:
By expanding our partnership with UKREiiF, the Scottish Cities Alliance will be able to share more investment opportunities than ever before. We want to attract long-term investment that benefits our communities, develops our local and national economies, and supports Scotland’s path to net zero emissions. We’re excited to connect with investors and developers from around the world.
Matt Christie, Director – External Relations and Content, UKREiiF, noted:
We’re hugely grateful to the Scottish Cities Alliance for stewarding a delegation of 8 cities, and Scottish Government, alongside a plethora of private sector partners for what will be the first time a “team Scotland” pavilion is present at UKREiiF. From what I’ve seen of their plans, it’s going to be a fantastic opportunity for our delegates to get involved in!
