The Dunfermline Learning Campus is a flagship development showcasing the city’s ambition and growth. Opened in 2024, this £122 million project brings together Woodmill High School, St Columba’s RC High School, and Fife College on one site, creating a modern, collaborative learning environment for over 2,700 pupils.
As the world’s largest Passivhaus-certified education building, the campus sets a global benchmark for sustainability. Spanning 26,666 m², it delivers exceptional energy efficiency and air quality, reducing operational carbon and supporting Scotland’s Net Zero goals. Built to the highest standards, the design maximises natural light and comfort while cutting energy use by up to 75% compared to traditional schools.
Facilities are outstanding: three all-weather pitches, four multi-use games areas, grass pitches with running tracks, and extensive indoor sports amenities. The campus also includes a community growing space and a dedicated bus stance for 17 buses, ensuring accessibility for all.
This transformative project was delivered through strong partnerships between Fife Council, Fife College, BAM Construction, and the Scottish Government’s £2 billion Learning Estate Investment Programme. It not only provides state-of-the-art education facilities but also creates pathways to employment and skills development through integrated college provision.
The Dunfermline Learning Campus is more than a school—it’s a symbol of innovation, sustainability, and opportunity, reinforcing Dunfermline’s position as a city ready for the future.
